Keynote Speaker
Detroiter Dr. Rita Fields has a personal story just as compelling as her professional track record of success. Her journey began as a homeless high school dropout and took her to earn bachelor, masters and doctorate degrees. Today she is CEO of two companies, a University of Michigan professor, and an elite level consultant. She has visited six continents and explored cultures and studied leadership around the world, including as a dissertation advisor at Assumption University, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Fields spent much of her career as a senior executive in human capital management in both corporate and health care. She is a senior certified professional with the Society of Human Resource Professionals and was selected as a US delegate for SHRM conferences in China and Brazil. She serves on numerous charitable boards and has been a speaker for TEDxDetroit, Detroit Policy Conference, among other local and national organizations.

The criteria for this honor are women leaders who have not only had significant business success, many at a global level, but have also made Michigan a better place to live and work through their efforts. Their contributions are significant and will impact future women leaders for generations to come. Many have received other honors, including this program in years past, but their continued success and drive to improve the lives of others entitles them to this induction.
