Healthy Consumers – Good for the Community, Good for Business!
Become a partner to improve the health of residents in Eastpointe, Roseville and Warren
Thriving communities have specific characteristics, one of which is healthy lifestyles. Healthier people have the capacity for increased productivity, and thus contribute to the economy and expand their own financial resources.
Together, the MBPA and the Greater Detroit Area Health Council [GDAHC] are collaborating with other partners to educate consumers about how to lead healthier lifestyles in the Macomb County communities of Eastpointe, Roseville and Warren.
Our end goal is to reduce the rate of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and stroke in the three communities. These factors impact lives, families, the community, and yes the economy through less productivity and higher health care costs. Healthy people make economic sense for the community, and for your business.
Join us in the Macomb Partners in Health initiative by:
* Displaying healthy habits posters at your place of business, including retail stores and employee lunchrooms, and inviting GDAHC to provide nutritional labeling on select items at your retail store(s);
– GDAHC and initiative partners make available the posters for worksites and retail stores, and nutritional labeling for stores (staff will be provided to assist with the labeling).
* Sharing walking routes, local walking groups, recommended activities, and workshops with your employees and customers; and
– GDAHC and initiative partners will have an online calendar and printed materials.
* Allowing GDAHC to list your business and location as a supporter on the initiative’s website at GDAHC.org.
