Rebel Nell L3C
An attorney, moved to Detroit in 2007 to pursue her childhood dream of working in the sports industry. With a lot of hard work and determination she worked her way up from intern to Associate Counsel for the Detroit Tigers. Amy was always grateful for the opportunity Detroit gave her and wanted to find a way to give back to the city that gave her a chance at her dream.
That opportunity came in 2013. Living next door to one of the city’s most well-known shelters gave her a unique opportunity to get to know the residents. During walks with her dog, Elbie, Amy began to build relationships with a few of the women and learned of the situations that led them to the shelter. Many of the women shared stories of suffering from emotional, physical and financial abuse. They also explained the decision to leave their situation behind even though it meant seeking relief in a shelter. These inspirational stories were the catalyst for creating Rebel Nell. Rebel Nell was created to employ, educate and empower women by teaching them the skill of making jewelry from fallen graffiti, educate them on financial literacy, business education and life wellness, and empower them to live an independent life. The is a jewelry company that breaks through barriers to reveal layers, not only in the jewelry but in the women they employ. Employment paired with education and a support system encourages the women to regain confidence in themselves and lead them on the path to success.
Under Amy’s leadership, Rebel Nell continues to move the needle forward both with unique jewelry designs and social impact.
