Most employers are not prepared for the domino effects of a fast-aging population, and must face the fact that they will need to provide support to the next generation of caregivers. They are often scrambling to stay above water – emotionally, physically and financially.
You are invited to join us on July 18, 2019 at 11:30 am for the next Women Thrive Initiative Lunch and Learn: Caregiver Survival. Jill Gafner Livingston, author of Personal Positioning for the Caregiver, will discuss her 20-year experience as a caregiver and reveal the steps she was forced to take in order to survive. Her strong words of encouragement will focus on the stress and imbalance in the lives of caregivers and identify the need to have employer support. Participants will gain knowledge in recognizing caregiver burnout and review the steps of a three-part survival plan. Lunch is $15 and preregistration is requested. Jill Gafner Livingston has been a global training expert for many years, clocking in over 1200 international hours in performance improvement and behavior modification training. Jill coaches 2500+ people per year on multiple processes and procedures. She holds a BS in Business Management, a Certification in Dale Carnegie, CDP, and CADDCT. In 1991, Jill became a caregiver to her husband Bob, who was diagnosed with double lung cancer, brain cancer, and dementia. While raising her family and supporting the demands of her husband’s health, Jill began writing about her role as a caregiver and started supporting caregivers nationally since there was such a growing need for emotional support. In 2012, after 21 years of caregiving, Bob passed away. Today, Jill’s instruction is stronger than ever as she earned her Certified Dementia Practitioner and Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Training certificates through the International/National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.
