Jeff has a diverse employee benefits background and currently serves as the Director of Sales Strategy for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, where he has held several leadership positions in the delivery of group-sponsored health insurance benefits during his 20-year tenure at the Blues. Jeff led the Michigan Blues in the rollout of consumer-directed health plans and was instrumental in providing group health plans with technical and business guidance to comply with the requirements of the Affordable Care Act and also is involved with a variety of Blues initiatives in pharmacy benefits and concierge medicine.
He has spoken at state, regional and national benefits conferences on the topics of Consumer-Directed Healthcare, Emerging Healthcare Trends and Financial Wellness. Jeff has authored two books devoted to financial wellness focused on employees at the workplace and his books are distributed to organizations throughout the United States and Canada by The Wellness Council of America. His latest book, Financial Wellness@Work has been distributed to hundreds of worksites to help employees to understand and utilize employer-sponsored benefits as a foundation for building personal financial wellness.
Jeff earned his MBA from Grand Valley State University. He serves as an adjunct Finance Department faculty member for the Grand Valley State University College of Business and is a Certified Financial Planning Professional (CFP®).
In Jeff’s presentation today, he will discuss significant healthcare trends and then will explore a topic that is gaining rapid interest and acceptance in organizations of all sizes—workplace-sponsored employee financial wellness. Jeff will explore why companies are discovering the important linkage of employee financial wellness to engagement in established benefits and health promotion programs.
