Monica Hampton is a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker who obtained her Bachelor’s in Social Work at Michigan State University with a focus in clinical and microwork. Monica then went on to pursue a Master’s in Social Worker at Wayne State University with a focus in School Social Work. Monica’s area of concentration since entering the field of Social Work almost two decades ago consists of serving youth and families with a Serious Emotional Disturbance. Monica started her career doing community-based work and then went onto assist Wayne County in identifying gaps within systems as it relates to serving families and provided oversight to Wraparound Providers. Monica then transitioned into the role of Children’s Initiatives Coordinator at the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network in 2014 and currently oversees Wraparound, Home Based, and the Serious Emotional Disturbance Waiver (SEDW) for Wayne County. Monica also serves as a liaison between CMH and the Department of Health and Human Services assisting with trainings, understanding CMH, and the services that are offered under the Network as well as problem-solving around system barriers that affect youth and families. Monica truly enjoys the work she does in serving youth and families in Wayne County.
